49% Trust Themselves More On The Economy Than Obama

Forty-nine percent (49%) of U.S. voters trust their own judgment more than President Obama’s when it comes to the economic issues affecting the nation.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) trust the president more in a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure whose judgment is better.

Those numbers are really great! I just hope Barack Hussein Obama keeps up the good work. With all of the problems he has inherited, including Bush's huge budget deficit, he is doing a great job.

Hmmmmm Gallup would beg to disagree with you and Rasmussen on this one.
Stimulus Support Edges Higher, Now 59%
PRINCETON, NJ -- Public support for an $800 billion economic stimulus package has increased to 59% in a USA Today/Gallup poll conducted Tuesday night, up from 52% in Gallup polling a week ago, as well as in late January.

Over the same period, support for the stimulus package held steady among independents, with a slight majority in favor of it. The percentage of Republicans favoring the package rose slightly from 24% to 28%, but remains below the 34% support received in early January, before Congress began its formal consideration of the package.

Lots of related data available from Gallup to help lurkers compare pollsters and the phrasing of their questions.

And that is why polls are meaningless?

Mike
Great job of doubling Bush's bailout and with major pork spending.

One has to examine the questions being asked and then they become more meaningful. Rasmussen in their approval rating only offers the following options for respondents.

Strongly Approve
Strongly Disapprove
No opinion.

It does not allow for anything other then a strong opinion and thus is more measuring those with strong feelings. Most of the other polls allow you to approve or disapprove in other then unequivocal terms. Thus enabling many more respondents to support or not support and give a broader perspective on approval. The numbers from Rasmussen are more headline grabbing because they suggest a lower approval number and thus will get used more by those not wanting higher approval numbers. People see a number like 39% or 41% strongly approving and assume the balance are against which isn't true at all. In fact the number strongly approving in Rassmussen has thus far always exceeded the number strongly disapproving by double digits. That is why a site like Pollster.Com or FiveThirtyEight becomes important because they report the results of all the legitimate polls and gives the reader a consensus picture.

The mother of the child with special needs in Kansas who is asking about Special Education cuts in her state budget would probably pull your hair out for considering Federal Aid for Special Education Pork, if that is on your list.

Q: What are some of the other main focuses of the bill?

A: Here are some highlights:

Education: The package has some $11.5 billion to support the IDEA program for special education. There's another $10 billion for a federal program to help low-income students.

Ramussen is anti- Obama and pro-republican. We all know he is a conservative republican so no wonder his polls have a conservative leaning.

Btw, this is one stupid poll...is it a wonder that most people think they can do a better job than somebody else?

The following link in hindsight provides one hilarious laugh at how Rasmussen falsely raised the hopes of Republicans about the 2008 elections. You have to read it and keep it.
Captain's Quarters
It could mean something else as well. The past year gave voters a good look at the Democratic primary challengers, a thoroughly inexperienced lot. Given that the three Democrats with any chance of winning the nomination comprise less experience in national office combined than John McCain and no executive experience at all, some disenchantment may have set in with voters. It certainly doesn't give Democrats a reason to think that they have momentum for a general election -- in fact, this survey shows the opposite.

Yup all plus more based on Rasmussen. Save it and cherish it Bots.

Obama looks nuts to me. He stands up there and talks about all these billions of dollars he's got to give to this and more billions of dollars to give to that.

Where exactly does he believe all this money is?

He believes a president can simply push a button and create a trillion dollars today, another trillion tomorrow?

All he's doing is throwing huge debt at the current debt. Obama has absolutely no clue how he's going to pay back all the trillions he has in mind to spend.

The average person who hasn't got themselves very deeply in debt realizes that when you're in debt, the only thing to do is quit spending or get another income.
