They don't and they tried...and Obama is coming to the same conclusions they did... And most likely the people he sends elsewhere (at least 1 or 2 and if he can find anywhere) will be like the other two who later found refuge again in terrorism. No spin on the FOIA. As saganista said in another thread it will go back to a Reagan era directive that was covered for whatever reason after 9/11. No one think freedom of information that I know is bad. The only thing I can think of that would put any of that into question is if as a US citizen we are allowed to get the documents that means practically anyone from around the world can also do so. In fact the National Archives are full of request and you can see how requested the info.

I think this is the right one.... Executive Orders

Is it? What's best varies amongst which group of people you talk too... obviously.

As an example, a smart fiscal conservatives like Congressman Ron Paul would posit what's best, would be a much more severe recession (depression even); the elimination of the Federal Reserve; eliminating most non-vital Federal programs, and pulling our troops out of the Middle East (TOTALLY); Lastly a total reinstatement of civil liberties, reversal of practically ever piece of legislation of the last 90 years that has gone against that ideology and a reinstatement of the Gold Standard... probably a low flat tax too, but that's just guessing.

Bush implemented what he felt best for the people too, and well... you can see where that got this nation...

Ultimately, what is best for the people is their will being reflected in the Executive Office.
