They are appalled at the hijacking of their party by the extreme right wing factions of this nation. Neither McCain nor Palin ever speaks, at rallies or elsewhere, about their actual plans. Instead, they pump up the hatred, speaking in jingoistic generalities, suggesting that Obama is "unAmerican," "muslim," "terrorist," etc., ad nauseum. NONE of which is true. But the truth doesn't matter, either to them or to their base. And the reason they do this is because if they were to use their time, instead, telling you what they plan to do when they get to the White House, they wouldn't HAVE a base. No modern politician running for the Presidency has EVER conducted this kind of smear campaign. It is absolutely astounding.
In some realities, facts = hate. Oh, well....

Please explain to me how phony registrations can affect the election. I volunteered to help people register (no, I do not work for ACORN) and, for argument's sake, let's say a few people gave me false information. Or maybe, like some of the ACORN workers, I made up some phony names so I could get paid for more work than I actually performed (if I got paid.)

Do you realize ACORN is the one turning in the false registration forms? It makes no difference. If I register as Marilyn Monroe and show up at the polls, I still can't vote as Marilyn Monroe (unless that's my real name, of course)

This is just another desperate attempt by the Republicans plotting to suppress votes. Just 2 years ago, John McCain spoke at an ACORN rally and said "this is what American is all about." I guess he's changed his mind since America doesn't think John McCain is what America is all about.

This is such a dirty campaign and McCain & Palin don't care how deep in the gutter they drag us, inciting hatred and division instead of encouraging unity and democracy. Shame, shame, shame on you Senator McCain.

You do realize that ACORN reviews the registrations first and when they find a bad registration they flag it, right? By law ACORN is not allowed to throw the bad ones out...they have to turn them in to Election Officials. Election Officials have to go through all of the registration forms that ACORN has flagged as being bad and see if there are any good ones before discarding them. All these reports we are hearing of are Election Officials going through the registrations that ACORN flagged as being bad. The REAL problem is that there are a lot of people that ACORN hired who are just writing in names instead of actually doing the work they were being paid for.

Now, ACORN screwed up by paying people to register people...if they get volunteers to do it they don't have any motivation to make up names and addresses. But ACORN is NOT trying to slip in fake registrations. These are all forms that ACORN set aside as being bad in the first place. They just aren't allowed to throw them out because if they did that then they would be breaking the law.

here you go luzianne

Mark Jacoby, who was arrested in Ontario and owns a firm hired by the California Republican Party, violated state registration laws, authorities say.

I haven't seen much about that one.
