Trickle down is right. Maybe the big companies need joe the plumber to get rid of the blockage and stop the trickle down from the boardroom, that is bankrupting middle America
Because this guy represents millions of Americans who have dreams of owning a business, and millions more who understand that they get thier jobs from these businessess that Barak Obama will kill.
THAT is why Plumber Joe matters.
So it's all a matter of identity politics, then? Joe doesn't matter, but the representation of Joe is what matters. If this is the case, then perhaps people who identify with Joe's representation ought to look into how to make their dreams (or Joe's dreams indirectly related to them) realistic in their own lives and situations. That means, perhaps they should look into how each of these tax proposals will effect them individually, not how they will effect Joe. For me, this is common sense.
Joe the Plumber is earning over £20,000 a month working as a self employed plumber, for a company. Is he going to stop working when he buys his own company? Hard to understand how a guy who will have self employed plumbers working for him will have problems investing in a company where he doesn't have any tax commitments to his employees. He will only be paying his own tax, finding the customers and advertising. For this he will get a percentage of his employees income, which he will be personally taxed for in his earnings. Maybe we should have donations sent to Joe to get him through this tough time?
Where does it say his income ?
Or is this just assumption.
Trying to slam or belittle anyone who does not agree with the left will be decimated at all costs................
and to add...he would have a 3% tax raise...along with a 50% tax credit for health care...oh and what about the 3000.00 credit for hiring new employees?
I think Joe the Plumber will be able to feed his family and pay his bills just fine. Something that a lot of the people making less then him can not do at this point...
Exactly. Joe the Plumber should be worying more about this clients who will have to decide between paying for Joe's services or buying groceries.
Furthermore, Joe the Pumber is a horrible example to relate to the American people. If Joe has the funds to buy a business that will net him over $250K, he is not the common American.
This shows yet again how out of touch McCain is with America.
Or maybe have a simple condition both men and women on welfare have to uphold. You can't make any more kids, or you're kicked out of the program. Someone can't control what they do? There are simple operations to help out with that little problem.
But they have learned the more children the more welfare and the longer they can stay out of the work force.
Then, I really love the part, when the women are approaching 40's and they blame all their problems on their children. As if the kids asked for the parents to keep having kids they couldn't afford.
I have heard this more then once, from welfare dependent people. Can't even say couples, since this program doesn't even encourage family values or ones family responsibility.

Obama has said he will increase tax on earnings over $250,000. Joe the plmber has said he is afraid that Obama's tax increases will hurt him. I'll go slow here for you....... Joe would only be worried if he earns OVER $250,000. That is how we can safely say that "Joe" earns over $250.000 or he wouldn't attack Obama on his tax policy.
