I, too , find it amazing that the stereotyping from the McCain/Palin campaign has seemed to be so acceptable to some!

I am NOT a "Mom", I am NOT a plumber, I am NOT an alcoholic who slugs back six beers a day apparently like Palin's husband does.

I find it amazing that anyone is taking political advice from one Republican plumber!

Default Taxation Avoidance

What's the difference?
Joe 6 pack taking on side jobs to earn a few extra $$$ without having to pay taxes? OR
Big American corporations moving jobs overseas to avoid paying minimum wages and taxes?
Which is worse?
Mentioning joe plumber 26 times in the debate, may NOT have anything to do with what most Americans are feeling right now, the economic crisis. In fact, his opinions may not matter at all to people who are earning the minimum wage.
Who really cares what the plumber thinks.
We're Americans, and we like choice. we all have our different opinions, and right to freedom of speech. that's what makes us so great.
joe hasn't swayed my opinion one iota.

Depends on how Joe has his business setup.

2080 hours in a working year.

$300/hour (2-3 jobs and hour) x 2080 = @ 20% profit that's $125,000 year @ 25% profit that's $156,000/year.

Needless to say Joe has to do a lot of crap work to get to $250,000 only to be taxes more than others. I don't blame him I'd be having second thought also.

OMG.............your basing your crazy assumption on that!

Middle Class America isnt bankrupt. Middle America has more purchasing power today than at any point in American history.

Now those members of the middle class that are struggling tend to have $20K in credit card debt, are driving two $40K cars they can barely afford and were suckers to get a $400K ARM on their house!

Thats called being stupid with their money. dont blame the govenment for your own money mismanagment.

Rigth now the top 10% of Americans pay somewhere near 70% of the total tax bill and the bottom 37% of Americans pay ZERO.

It's why they want the handout. Have them deal with all of those extra activities and they would be changing their mind fairly quickly.

No its terrible.

It is also terrible that a good bit of these businesses are in this shape because of idiotic GOVERNMENT REGULATION slapped on them by congress and the previous president that forced them to make really dumb loans so people who couldnt afford to buy a house could buy a house...

You really ought to be mad at the democrats over that but those are your team so....

gag.

And again, you're not listening to those of us who have been in a family that did own a business just like the one Joe apparently dreams of.

That aside, okay. So it's unbelievably expensive to own a business. You need MORE than $250K a year income to be able to keep it afloat. And therefore...$900 a year will break you? You'll have to fold it all up because of that $900 in taxes?

Heaven help me. Deliberate ignorance of facts.
