I have a friend who is a Delegate to the Convention. So far, they have not been given tix to the Stadium. (Then again, she is a pledged Hillary delegate from NY)
Obama needs a stadium because it's all about the crowds. It's all about the photo op for ads that will follow. It's all about a tall man standing in front of a massive crowd, arms in the air beckoning them all to gather and follow.
It's all about the picture. And what we will learn is whether the majority of Americans can be drawn in by the picture, the "image" ... or not.
My fear is they will. My hope is they will see through it and will not.

I don't have my ticket yet, either. It will be a few more weeks before they're actually issued.
Is Obama going to announce his VP at the convention? That's the latest he can, right?
I'm betting the announcement comes 2-3 days before the convention. An announcement like this gets the media and the crowd pumped up, so you want to make it close to a big event.

The thing is that we live in a winner take all government, so no matter how you want to spin this, it always has been all about the crowds. The one who gets the most support wins, there is nothing else to work towards.

Absolutely right. Plus renting a big stadium is about rewarding the volunteers. And energizing them for what is likely to be an impressive voter registration campaign this fall.
Very, very true. Which leads to an intriguing question: What color pantsuit will Hillary wear that day? If it's the yellow one, she's dressing for a photo op where she'll stand out in a large crowd. Like maybe a surprise victory speech? Hmmm...
Obama will continue to involve the grass roots in the Democratic Party and the campaign. He was a community organizer....his political instincts are spot on. He is the candidate of change......look for lots of innovation....to bring the people back into the process and to cut the lobbiests out of the equation.
Follow the money.
John McCain accepted 1 1/2 million dollars last month from big oil, to flip flop and endorse off shore drilling and drilling in the wild life sanctuary rather on the public lands that they hold leases on. The American people, the little guys are funding Obama's campaign.

Just because people show up at the park doesn't mean they're watching the game.
Think about it.
