all 3 of your examples literally span the world in scope and name no specifics.

I said "if one looks at". I leave it to you to do that work. I've done it, but it's off topic to discuss those details to that extent.

Of course partisans have no interest in this. They will always believe "their" side is always good while the "other" is bad all while ignoring they do exactly the same thing.

In other words, your good intentions actually back-fire and/or serve the opposite purpose you intend.

Examples of what I am talking about abound, perhaps made most obvious when Nader ran against Bush and Gore. I voted for Nader then, for the reasons you offer and more, but from a practical matter, all Nader's votes did for us is help Bush win by a squeak.

Though I am certainly not happy with the chooses and/or limits of what is essentially a two-party system, I vowed never to make that sort of mistake again (while still trying to believe my vote really matters either way in any case)...

PS: As a matter of fact, I have the same concern voting for Sanders, because I think Hillary has a better chance of beating whomever the GOP ultimately puts up against her over Sanders. That's the practical pragmatic political issue anyway, all wishful thinking aside.
I share your views and am on the opposite side of the aisle. I too feel frustrated from time to time. I voted for Romney as hard as in was. I understand those who vote 3rd party, they are expressing their view butto me it is a wasted vote. If you feel strongly about the other side being kept out of office you don't vote 3rd party and you don't stay home like many say they will do if their chosen one doesn't win the primary.

You voted for Romney? After he threatened to do away with Big Bird?

Well hang on to your knickers. Biden will come riding in on his white horse soon. But seriously, do any of you want another 4 years of Obama? I would vote for Bernie first.

Very seriously, I think Obama has been one of our best presidents since I have been old enough to vote, and most certainly during the worst economic circumstances I have known in my life time. Of course we can argue forever about all that to no avail, but I also truly believe that most of us have no idea what the politics of these sorts of periods really involve, and as such we just don't know what to make of it all...

One thing for sure, there is no off-the-shelf playbook for a president burdened with the prospect of economic collapse like FDR and Obama were presented. Criticizing these leaders as conservatives love to do in light of the problems they were ushered in to address is much like criticizing an understaffed doctor attempting triage in an overloaded medical clinic in the midst of a disaster.

No, it's not a pretty picture, but we should be thankful there are leaders who can actually step in and turn the tide, remember how things were before they took office, and maybe accept the recovery emergency measures will not be perfect and as such, the recovery period will not likely be quite as short as we would all prefer.

As they should, bettors seem to be taking Hillary's defeat last evening in stride.

She's still the STRONG even-money or better favorite to win the presidency according to 17 or so online bookmakers.

Unfortunately, the reckless billionaire blowhard moves into that second spot. 3-1 looks like his lowest odds currently.

Grandpa Sanders moves up a notch to third. His odds are now down to 5-1 on a couple 'sites.

Not surprisingly, Robot Rubio is the big loser, falling from second-choice into fourth. He's 7-1 on one 'site, but you can get 10-1 on another.

Calgary Cruz and "Low-energy" Jeb are both anywhere from 12-1 to 18-1 longshots.

That nerdy guy from Ohio is still floundering around at 28-1 on one 'site, but you can get 50-1 on some others.

I'm still waiting for Carson (750-1 on one 'site) to finally come out and say that his campaign was just a gag, and never really a serious endeavor.

We're laughing at you Ben ... hard...

As opposed to what? The 8 years of Bush-Cheney? Yes, I'll take another 4 years of Obama, please.

What kills me is how apparently, blacks, especially those in the south are die hard Clinton supporters. LOL Why? What in the hell has she done for you?

Im no socialist, but if there's anyone that is at least honest and has walked the walk, it's Bernie. Why you would choose a lying, scam artist, vastly wealthy for doing nothing jerk like Hillary is just astonishing. Some times the world truly makes no sense.

You should do a little Clinton biography research. Hillary has been advocating for the rights of poor people and minorities since she was in high school. A case might be made that she lost her way and her focus in the past several years, but the ties that bind are deep and lasting. You can be thankful that black people have the good sense to stick with her. Otherwise, we might end up with Trump or Sanders - men who have done nothing for America and would likely damage our nation were they to win.
