Because his policies/beliefs align with my own for the most part.
Could you tell me what those policies and beliefs are, because with all the times I have heard him speak, I still don't know what they are. He is not straight forward with his speeches. He talks around things, so what he says can be taken any way you want it to go. I don't find him trustworthy at all.

I agree with you that this is positive. However, the middle class in America needs a break and I don't think Obama will give it to them. I see him milking the middle class. It is time for people, all people, to start taking care of themselves. The middle class is just about "plum" worn out from taking care of everybody else.

Me too. We need to meet with all these people and set them right and make them see the light! We need to let them know that they stand to gain more by being better world citizens than by acting out. If they want things from the United States, they need to respect the values of the United States. Same with the EU.

We give to these nations every day when we buy gas. I believe 9/11 shows how much they respect our values. Do you really think that is going to change?

I am still waiting to hear what those policies are that people like, because I can't find any likeable policies by myself.

Yes, and it is because of this giving on our country's part that most countries do not respect us. Our values are being challenged by far too many countries that have just about 'milked' us. good point NCN.

You may want to make sure that the new is not worse than what you have already. I would prefer something better. I don't think Obama is better than what we have right now and that is bad enough.

Y'all really think that it's cool for the president of the U.S. to meet with the likes of Fidel Castro and the Iran nutjob? This is foreign policy 101, folks -- a president meeting with dictators puts them on the level of statesmen. It legitimizes their regimes. They use those photo ops with Western leaders to claim support. You DON'T do it.

You might have diplomats meet with them and play the middlemen; if they agree to improve their records on human rights and make substantive, positive changes in their countries, you continue to wave carrots in front of their noses so they continue to change. THIS is how change was brought about in the Gadhafi regime.

What, Obama thinks he's going to fly to Iran, give one of his "yes, we can" speeches, and that country's leader is going to fall in love with the U.S.? This naivete and lack of substance is exactly why I couldn't vote for him.
