Trump is an embarrassment. Right now, Romney needs all the undecideds and Independents he can get. With Trump on his side, who needs enemies? Trump makes the entire party look stupid. Now is not the time for stupid. If he wants to pursue it, he can wait and if 0bama is reelected, go after him then. Not now.
I agree. Obama will probably release forged documents and it'll just make things worse when Trump won't accept them.
Same way Romney has something to hide in those taxes. No time in history (outside of G. W's being leaked) has any candidate released, transcripts and the like. Where are Mitt's college transcripts, passports and oh yes, TAXES. Only a GOP diehard would believe he won't release them because he doesn't want people to know how generous he is. Give me a break.
Romney did release his 2011 tax returns.
His income was $21 million and he donated 19% to charity (almost $4 million).
Pres. Obama's income was $789,674 and donated 22% to charity.
Vice Pres. Joe Biden's income was $379,035 and he donated a "whopping" 1.46% to charity.
why do you believe this would be any different than obama releasing his birth certificate? the COLB was released in june 2009 yet the claims persist that he hasn't released one.

If Obama actually did take up Trumps offer what do you think would happen:
A. Trump would accept the documents as genuine, pay the charity, and Birthers would finally accept that the President is in fact a U.S. citizen.
B. Trump would release the money only after he determined that they were not forgeries, Joe Arapaio would 'prove' that the picture of the documents was altered, and Birthers would start demanding Obama's preschool records, his deceased mother's placental DNA, and a blood sample from the President to prove he's human.
