So when Romney's Father took Govt. welfare because he was poor did that mean the Romney's were unable to understand a Republican view and that was the very reason they were poor?

Been around for 103 years.

Oh, that makes a big difference now. It shows by the way Obama is decentralizing the healthcare industry right?

But looking at their faces, I saw some of them get this look like, "WTF? What's redistribution??? "

I wonder how many realize that, in a democratic republic, redistribution of wealth, via the tax code, and all the services provided by government, is ESSENTIAL to the well-being of the commonwealth? That, we couldn't function without it? I mean, think about it- what wold a country with NO redistribution look like? A Randian plutocracy, right?

So here's my theory- many in the GOP understand perfectly well what "redistribution" means... and they HATE it! That's why they resent the mythical "47%" they accuse of freeloading. I include Romney in this group because, dumb as he is, this IS about money, after all, one of the few things he's conversant in.

Conversely, I think MANY of Romney's supporters HEAR "redistribution" and, since it's coming out of the mouth of a black president, THINK they hear "restitution", as in restitution for slavery.

Redistribution- Essential, non-controversial

Restitution- Radical, VERY controversial!

What do you think, am I on to something?
No.

In fact, you couldn't be more wrong headed.

Article 1 Section 8....18 enumerated powers. That's it. Nothing else. In fact, there is only one thing that is Constitutionally guaranteed to any individual citizen. That's a defense attorney.

Anything else is confiscation of one's property to give to another.

Redistribution is taking money out of my wallet and putting it into the wallet of someone else. Taxing for services that only the government can provide, like defense, printing and coining money, maintaining the courts and congressional expenses is not redistribution.

Good question.

Why does anyone feel entitled to something from someone else?

They are incapable of thinking, earning or feeding themselves.

President Obama's slogan was "Yes, we can." And now it's "No, I can't." so he is going to steal money from people and buy you things.
