Yup, you nailed it someone was incompetent and was testing a web page with test data before the primaries and accidentally put a live link up.

Of course I'm sure some will find it easier to believe that they accidentally leaked the results that the big conspiracy people planned in advance which in the interest of making them believable showed three million votes including Buddy Roemer and Rick Perry with over 80k vote each, even though neither is running for GOP candidate anymore.

You guys never cease to amaze me.

I'm 100% with you there, and I totally agree.
If you're looking for someone who considers the mainstream media incompetent, look no further

Only 6% of the voters in the Illinois GOP primary were Democrats. That being said, I wouldn't say there was an increase in turnout from 2008, but there's no reason that it should be. It was a good-sized turnout in spite of everyone talking about how light it was. The vast majority of people just don't vote if their primary is uncompetitive, or vote in it anyway. I always vote in the GOP primary, there's always some office that is competetive

I wasn't talking about Democrats as much as I was Independents.

Fact of the matter is in a state with an Open Primary turnout will be impacted from one election to the next based off how competitive the Primary for the other party happens to be in those elections. Closed Primaries obviously won't have that same impact.

When you have a state with an Open Primary and the other side has a competitive Primary one year and not the next you are likely to see much larger turnout for your side in the year the other side wasn't competitive then you would see if the other side wasn't.

The GOP has encouraged Gingrich to drop out, but in his parallel universe he thinks he is still important in all of this. Newt has become addicted to the attention and doesn't want it to end.

I know...I hesitated after watching Rachel Maddow talk about some of the
"tricks" being used against Dr. Paul. I've always hated "dirty tricks" we've seen since Nixon. I'm glad Gingrich lost to Paul tonight...it restores my faith in America for rejecting the pompous jerk. And the bet's still on!

That's good to know; Gingrich needs a zip code for his ego. He'll write a book when it's over.

He will have to. He is now dipping into his own personal funds to keep his campaign going. For me, that would be a sign to call it quits if I were as behind as he is. I guess egos have to be fed though.
