It is a narrow lead within the MoE, but this and Santorum's belated victory in Iowa shatters the myth of Romney inevitability in the GOP primary.

What, open marriage guy takes the lead? You know, not much of a stretch from open marriage to open borders.

Will be interesting to see how the shocking ABC interview with Gingrich's ex-wife affects the voters' increasingly warm view of Sir Newton. A lot of pundits are convinced that this will derail his campaign but I'm not entirely sure of that myself. The notion that southerners are somehow a uniquely morally-driven society is frankly a bit of a myth. What people say they believe in front of friends at a dinner party versus what they will actually be willing to do in private and what kind of person they'd be willing to vote for in a political race creates quite the chasm. I believe Iowans are more sincere about their desire for a moral candidate, because in the Midwest and Great Plains it is important that a person keep one's word. In the South, however, it is important that one keeps up merely the appearance of propriety.

Honestly, if someone told any of you in 2010 that--of all people--Spewt Gingrich would emerge as a serious candidate in the 2012 GOP presidential race, wound't you have laughed in their face?

Spewt Gingrich = another pathetic presidential candiate in a pathetic field of GOP losers.

If Gingrich would becomes the GOP nominee, it's a given -
four more years of Obama.

Good deal.

Newt needs to siphon away some of Romney's momentum. This will allow Paul enough opportunity to catch up and overtake Mittens.

I thought the Democrats wanted to derail Newt's chances of getting the nomination?

Gingrich is going to benefit from Perry's "redemption" remarks today. He will win SC. Romney losing 2 out of 3 and now having "1%" branded on him like a milk carton is in deep trouble.

The fact remains. The more people hear Newt talk (especially in the debates) or at live events, the more he is seen as an attractive candidate.

He would have most likely won Iowa had it not been for Mitten's SuperPac attack ads.
