so what you are saying is: people who do not share your views may be stupid. Is that it?

Seriously? That's all she has going for her? At least she wouldn't stone you?

But she's against cultural liberalism you say; cultural liberalism is the right of a person to live freely, the way she sees fit regardless of cultural norms or "traditional values" - something the Constitution was designed to protect.

So she won't stone you for not following her own cultural values, but she's still likely to support unconstitutional legislation against anyone who is different.

Ironic how you think being against cultural liberalism will somehow support the cultural liberalism of freedom from Shariah law.

I'm not the one who made that initial comment, but I will bite. Its not about agreeing with me or disagreeing with me. Its about saying and believeing utterly insane things.

The woman is going off on rants about how the U.S could all of a sudden usher in Sharia law. If your going to say the insane stuff Angle does such as her whole Sharia law in the U.S bit, and expect your audience to believe that then you must think your audience is pretty damn stupid. And those who do think we are about to be taken over by Sharia law, as some of Angle supporters seem to think, well then they are pretty damn stupid also.

I read an article on that topic today. It said that Sharia law is also observed to a certain extent in Germany. There is simply no way around it. For instance some Muslim immigrants such as asylum seekers turn out to have more than one wife. One can't send them back because of that, nor can one expect the husband to leave some of his wives behind. In short, it amounts to the acceptance of official polygamy although that basically violates the law.
In the wake of Muslim immigration Sharia law kind of automatically gets imported. The important thing in my opinion is that Sharia law is restricted to Muslim immigrants. As both Western and Muslim cultures mix there might be really difficult decisions ahead in the future. For instance there are cases where Western and Sharia morals and laws clash within a single family (usually between generations or the sexes), so which law to apply?

Well, we're already following Hebraic law in our courts in the US. In most jurisdictions that I'm aware (we actually studied this in law school 30 years ago) it is common practice for the court to DEFER to the Rabbinical dictates regarding divorce; ie, not granting the divorce without the "get".

Seventh Day Adventists also get some dispensations in court as do other religions regarding "swearing oaths".

She seems too young to be senile, but I'm starting to wonder.
You haven't visited Dearborn, Michigan lately. Have you?

I call that Sharia law.
I could call Buffalo the capitol of Montana, but that wouldn't make it so.

American non-Muslim men kill and mutilate wives and girlfriends every year, for a variety of reasons. Some beat their women if the woman dresses a certain way. Remember the man who chopped his wife up and put her in a suitcase and dumped it in the sea? The lab tech at a university who beat a female lab researcher and shoved her body back behind the wall?

Violence against women knows no cultural or religious bounds.
