Well that is disgusting! I assume that would be the smaller brown ones that mean a dirty home or apartment. There are the bigger black ones that some people call water bugs that I think aren't as much about filth.

Hmmm...Growing up in El Paso, I was used to the small brown ones that swarm like fire ants being called "water bugs." The large flying variety were "cockroaches."

But whichever kind you have, they are all disgusting unless you're from one of those cultures that believes in eating fried bugs! Protein, donchaknow.

There are some druggies that hang around the Warren inn area, due to the low rental rates. I wouldn't be that comfortable there, but it isn't a place with a lot of violent crime. Just don't leave your car unlocked/valuables sitting in the car that are visible.

I've known two people who lived there and they were okay with it --- one guy is a professional but just wanted the convenience and he was single at the time --- divorcing a wife in another state.

I think it's okay for someone who doesn't want to pay a lot -- very convenient location if you want to live in the city and don't have pets. You get what you pay for -- but I think its as safe as anywhere else, the violent crime rate is low in all parts of town. Keeping cars locked pretty much applies to the expensive neighborhoods here just as much as more affordable ones.

It'd probably be a good idea to either spray for bugs -- if you don't mind exposure to pesticides if there are cockroaches.

That place was a dump 13 years ago, I can only imagine how it is now.
