My school district has a severe budget shortfall, but we are still hiring bus drivers. We start at $17 an hour and top out at close to $30 an hour with full health insurance and other bennies. We guarantee 35 hours per week.
We operate 1200 air-conditioned, rear engine transit style buses

The qualifications:

No moving violations in the past 5 years.

Ability to drive without a cell phone glued to your head (it's illegal)

Pass a drug test

Pass a physical

About 90% of our applicants are disqualified by one or more of the above qualifications...

Member of congress or lobbyist is probably a pretty secure job.
MC's have something like a 98 percent re-election rate. Pretty good odds.
Pension, medical care, groveling minions, other bennies are pretty sweet too.

I will have to keep on working for few decades to come before I can retire, but will there actually be a good career out there in US for people? Is there any good paying job that will still have demand through bad economic time and will actually will be there for decades to come?
Undertaking...

In the past, there have been bills to allow more foreign nurses into this country but, many of them have been defeated.

I'd much rather have a foreign nurse come here with the same cost of living that I have and who demands the same wages ... than compete with some worker in China or India who's willing to work for pennies on the dollar.

When they get here, foreign nurses go for top dollar. They don't just mindlessly work for cheap.

Judging by the news chief financial officer of a failed hedge fund seems to be pretty secure. Even if it is not, the previous pay and bonuses will last a long time.

For decades Americans have bought the Republican line that unions were bad for them. Now ... they're learning otherwise.
