I purchased a Nissin Cup of Noodles today (shrimp) and for the first time ever there was only one shrimp in the cup. There are usually at least a dozen shrimp. Clearly they are doing this to skimp on costs and deliberately cheat the consumer. I know this may not seem like the biggest deal for a cup of soup that costs less than $2, but I have heard this happening with other products.
The purpose of this thread is for people to list any other instances (products) where they have firsthand knowledge of this occurring. And also to see if there's any way we can fight back as consumers.
You really really think that you what to be eating more shrimp?
Americans are comical.
It is sad.
But just comical.
Do you even know what I'm talking about? These are tiny freeze dried shrimp that have been in the Nissin product for months as it sits on a shelf. They are not "oiled".
People who ignorantly paint with a really broad brush are even more comical.
OrlandoRE_Miracle - Was this a single incident? Perhaps the next one will have two dozen?
It was the first time. It could have been just an anomaly, like a bad beer. But I'm afraid they now think they can get away with just putting one item (shrimp, chicken beef) in the cup and then claim that it's shrimp (etc.) cup of soup.

That's a pretty large assumption to make in public....isn't it?

To be fair, oil is not remotely the only thing a person need be concerned with regarding sea food. Hundreds of species of ocean life are testing for dangerous levels of several toxic chemicals, the most famous being heavy metals like mercury.
