Does your dog eat rice? (vet, stomach, diarrhea, allergies)

When PC is not feeling well, I give him rice and chicken. It doesn't matter how well I mix the chicken pieces in the rice, he will manage to pick them out. Even putting some chicken broth on the rice does nothing for him. I find a huge pile of discarded rice next to his bowl and have actually caught the little freak taking mouthfuls of rice and dumping it on the floor to get to the chicken! I don't know what he has against rice, but I'm assuming rice is the more important thing to consume when he has diarrhea than the chicken! Does your dog eat rice willingly?
I feed my dog rice and a protein whenever I run out of dog food and the next shipment hasnt arrived (city life is tough). Sometimes if I've had rice for dinner I'll feed her the leftover. She gobbles it right up. Vegetables on the other hand she won't go near. Avocado and strawberries she goes crazy for though.
Haven't tried rice with Harper. As much as his allergies kick in though I stick to what we know and only occasionally give him something new. Tell you what though he goes nuts over carrots and ice cubes.
Yep, Macie eats pretty much anything....Our neighbor dog had an upset stomach recently and they were out of rice so borrowed some from us. Of course, all I had was short-grain (sticky/sushi) rice and their poor dog was like "WTH?"....and refused to eat it....
I've been hand shredding the chicken, using "minute rice" and pouring the juices of the baked chicken into the rice to be absorbed. In addition I've been cooking the rice in reduced sodium chicken broth in which I also boiled carrot slices. All the flavors soaked up by the rice and making the chicken difficult to differentiate from the rice seems to be doing the trick for my lab. Before I did that and just cooked the rice "plain" he would spit it out too.
I'm not sure about my boy now, but with my previous dogs I've had to melt a piece of cheese and mix it together to get them to eat it.

PC's favorite fruit lately is pineapple! I can't eat it without his gigantic head in the bowl! He also likes cantaloupe and strawberries now. He eats whatever is in season! The freak would rather eat fruits/vegetables than rice covered in chicken broth!

I use a rice cooker, and put in half chicken broth/half water and still nothing! Maybe it's his way of saying he prefers to be grain-free!
If it were up to my boyfriend our dogs would eat our leftovers, but since I've been taking care of them for the past 10 months without any of his help (he was living out of state) I've been putting my foot down on what human food they get and what they don't get. It pisses my boyfriend off to no end, but I don't want extra vet bills when I can't even afford normal vet bills right now because of lack of work. He says "dogs are just dogs" but to me they're more then that.
