Giving your dog the old "BRAT" diet for diarrhea, eh? My dog will eat rice but then he'll eat most anything (not necessarily a good thing but if our cats could snicker, they would). Did you know that many years ago in Europe, rice was the main food for pet dogs?
when sadie has an upset stomach i give her rice mixed with cottage cheese. she eats it. she's kind of randomly picky (especially with dry food) but she eats lots of un-dog-like things, like pretty much any vegetable.
My geriatric Westie....(may she rest in peace) .... had lots of digestive issues.....one vet told me boiled chicken and rice and another vet said the same but 1/3 cottage cheese. She ate that diet for at least the last year of her life.
I find a huge pile of discarded rice next to his bowl and have actually caught the little freak taking mouthfuls of rice and dumping it on the floor to get to the chicken!
OMG that is too funny! Spitting out mouthfuls of rice... haha the mental picture is hilarious! I haven't tried rice with my dog, but my mother in-law had a dog who would eat an entire bowl of beef stew and leave every single carrot and pea behind, completely licked free of any stew. Was the funniest thing I had ever seen.

Artie understands () that he's grain intolerant. My friend gave his dogs -- and Artie -- each a little piece of his bagel. Artie took it (to be polite? ha!), went into another room and spit it out.
