Yippee! Honestly...we need the moisture. I had a bee in my house this morning that flew around totally disoriented. I actually squished it with my shampoo bottle (which would have never happened had it been allowed to "hibernate" and was at it's full brain potential).

You're right though about the traffic accidents. Tomorrow we will hear about various freeways being closed and the always chipper, Amelia Earhart will be there to fill us in.

Of course, it could be like the huge storm they predicted a few months ago..."wake up early because your commute is going to take longer", etc, etc. Nothing materialized. This is Denver.

Default ..

I am thrilled about the snow. We desperately need the moisture.

I had the best day of skiing all season today at Keystone. Nothin' like fresh tracks in a foot of sparkling powder!

Well, I was excited for some real snow until my 2 year old woke up with an earache. Ugh! Now I'm just hoping it waits until we can get to urgent care and the pharmacy. If you have to get dressed and go out, it ain't no snow day!

I also hate spring in Denver. I just planted flowers and my bulbs are blooming. This storm will most likely kill them all. Even my trees were blooming. I think we will get around 12"-15". Especially southern metro Denver.

We had a very mild winter, except for December which had -25F temperatures. January was nice as was February. March is ending on a bad note and I believe April will be really bad. Snow and cold will prevail. I believe it is payback time for our mild winter.

What I really hate is that the MAG will be sprayed everywhere and that stuff makes my car rust. I had a bunch of electrical shorts and the mechanic told me it is the MAG that they spray. It eats rubber, plastic, metal and brake lining. Nasty stuff.

The storm probably won't permanently kill your bulbs, but it certainly will flatten them.
March/April and often May can be a heartbreaking time for Colorado gardeners and farmers. I've seen many a blossoming crabapple splintered into pieces, ancient evergreens felled, forsythia a soggy mush on the ground.
And yeah, it's not a snow day for those who *have* to go out in it.
But y'all need moisture--we do too, and if it makes you feel any better, we've had the coldest winter here in over 20 years.
Hang in there, and if you're out on the road, drive defensively.
