Hamburger Mary's at 17th and Washington. About three blocks away. Colfax is considered 15th and Washington is just one block east of Clarkson. 17th also has Stueben's, 17th Avenue Grill and Watercourse (vegitarian).

DCPA just closed their shows, so make sure the Fillmore stays opened before you head down.

On Colfax, Tom's Diner is a greasy spoon, then there is the Denver Diner, Tommy's Tai, Star Cafe, Encore, Annie's Cafe that come to mind.

Thanks!

I called the Fillmore this morning and asked what the odds were that they would cancel. She said, "Nil". Radio station still says it's a go, but I'll call before we leave. I wish if they were going to do it they do it sooner rather than later. But we've been to one (out of town) that was canceled an hour before start. Not due to weather though, but vocals of lead singer. I don't want to get all the way down there and then find out but don't want to wait till the last minute to head down either....what to do, what to do....

Default my commute home

I went to the doctor this morning in east Denver off of Alameda. It took me two hours to get home to Ruby Hill around noon (4 miles total). Colorado Blvd was a disaster, it took me 45 minutes to cross it from Alameda. Then I got stuck in the Cherry Creek and Speer Blvd areas. So many people were sliding, a lot of the cars out there don't seem to have the tires or traction to be driving in this weather. I was surprised at the bad drivers out there.

I am hearing from friends that were out that the roads are slick, slick, slick and some are just getting home, they left work at noon.

Having just watched the news on channel 7, I'd like to just thank fate (or whatever had a hand in my chosing my profession) that I'm not a weather forecaster or small-town news reporter. Did you see those reporters out there braving the weather? They are standing out there, the snow is whipping in their faces and they are having to do a "serious" news story while trying not to brush their makeup off. Having moved here from Florida, I'd say it's just as bad down there...having to hang on to a pole while reporting on wind conditions during a hurricane.

Plus, if you fall or get blown over, you will be You-Tubed before you even get back to the newsstation.

Glad I can sit in my living room with a hot cup of tea and watch everyone else struggle. Welcome to Denver. We don't get snow until the trees have new leaves on them and my neighbors crocuses are out.

Does anyone know what's going on over at the I270/I76 exchange? My wife has been stuck there on the ramp (270 east to 76 east) for hours, but I can't find any information about it.

Looking at the traffic maps on maps.live.com, it's a real mess all over. 76 east is solid red all the way out to Barr Lake.
