Yeah, they JUST got moving again, after about 3.5 hours. It had to be either some absurd accident or the section of interstate was simply shut down.

Odd thing is I couldn't find anything on CDOT or any of the news websites, nor did I hear any such reports on the radio.

edit: LOL, wife just called and said the radio is just now announcing that there was a 50 car pile up, and there could be delays at that interchange......after it's been cleared of course.

Yeah pretty much. I'm always amazed at how bumper to bumper the 55 can be at 1:00pm.

They are standing out there, the snow is whipping in their faces and they are having to do a "serious" news story while trying not to brush their makeup off. Having moved here from Florida, I'd say it's just as bad down there...having to hang on to a pole while reporting on wind conditions during a hurricane.

Plus, if you fall or get blown over, you will be You-Tubed before you even get back to the newsstation.

Glad I can sit in my living room with a hot cup of tea and watch everyone else struggle. Welcome to Denver. We don't get snow until the trees have new leaves on them and my neighbors crocuses are out.
FYI: Denver is NOT a small market for TV. #18 of 210.

CURRENT SNOWFALL IN INCHES:

Nederland 11- Longmont 9 - Collins 8 - Evergreen 13 -Broomfield 14.5 - Thorton 8 - Westminster 14 - Lyons 8 - Boulder 12 - Arvada 11 - Erie 10 - Greeley 9 - Golden 10 - Lafayette 9

It will clear for Saturday and Sunday but ANOTHER snow storm may be coming on this MONDAY and late next week. If the storm strengthens, this Monday we could be looking at ANOTHER 6+ inches. Looks like April will live up to the snowiest month of the season. Heck, it can snow in May, probably will.

Folks, I thought I had seen serious snow in NYC and Connecticut.

Today I was literally buggered up, pretty bad. The breeze turned ice flakes into slapping particles.

This was quite an ice storm

I should have worked from home.

heh
I've lived in north Florida since late October '05 and have experienced one tropical storm, Fay--in August '08. I guess timing is everything, but location counts too.

The driving in it is what I used to dread. I never got used to it,partly becuase there were so many idiots (esp in SUVs) out there and Denver is where I grew up driving. Black ice was the most dangerous, but that should not be an issue for some time yet.

I drive an SUV but I'm one of those people who goes slow when it snows. Mainly because I'm not used to the snow yet. I grew up in NC where, when it snows, you stay home.
I hate black ice. We would get that often in NC & those are def. the days you stay home.

Eh, I saw plenty of people who drive politically correct econobox small cars driving like idiots today, too.

I'm bummed that the storm changed course, but happy that we at least got a little bit!
