I'm looking to hit up some of the great Denver bars around Broadway 8th Street S. of Colfax area while in town.I'm staying in Aurora-would like to take the light rail at least as far as it goes to Aurora (so I don't have to pay downtown parking and deal with traffic). What Denver light rail stop (if any) is closest to Aurora?

Honestly, I would just drive and find somewhere to park, unless you're concerned about not having a designated driver. It's a lot faster to get to that area via driving. During the week, there's an easy connection from the I-25/Broadway light rail station to the 0L bus, but it doesn't run on weekends. The "regular" 0 bus is slow and stops at EVERY SINGLE BLOCK.

Aurora is a very big city - it's basically the same size as Denver. That said, there currently 1 light rail stop in Aurora at the Parker Rd/Peoria St/I-225 intersection.

Depending on where in Aurora, you could be miles away from the 9 mile station. And on the other end of the trip, the nearest light rail station to Broadway & 8th is the 10th & Osage station, about a 1/2 mile away... and that's not an area I would want to walk around at night, especially while drunk.

Best bet would be to call a cab.
