I am visiting Dayton this week and I would like some recommendations.

So far I found Thai Nine, which was excellent.

Milano's!

Hee. I'm so lowbrow ...

And OMG the Pine Club! More comfort food, just not as lowbrow as Milano's.

FYI: Pine Club is cash only.

I'd also try Side Bar in the Oregon District just down the road from Thai 9.

^^ Side bar is Dayton's only mixologist joint that I am aware of. I used to go to there when they were on Second Street.

The Pine Club or the Paragon for steaks. If you are a seafood eater (I am not), try Jay's in the Oregon District.

Tank's on Wayne Avenue for the best greasy bar food Dayton has to offer. I am a foodie and not fond of greasy bar food and Tanks always kept me coming back. The cheese sticks are probably the best I have ever had. They slice them fresh, hand bread them and deep fry em. For good beer, a food/family oriented crowd and great bar food, Tanks is it.

Siam Pad Thai for competition with Thai 9. Hole in the wall setting with awesome sushi.

South Park Tavern sells Pizza Factory Pizza with an excellent beer selection.

Pizzas

My favorite Pizza Factory gourmet pie is the Cheeseburger Deluxe. Though the Philly-Cheesesteak and Seafood Blanc are awesome as well. PF only does takeout of delivery, thus I recommended SPT for sit down and enjoy place.

Flying Pizza downtown is tops!

Dangit, I need to visit Dayton myself soon! I'm getting hungry ...

If you want to try the local version of pizza, with a thin crust and sliced in little squares, hit Cassano's or Marion's. I prefer Cassano's -- it's not as salty -- but that is heresy in some quarters.

I preferred the Oakwood Club over the Pine Club for steaks and atmoshpere when I lived in Dayton.
