Vagabond2007, don't know what you mean by Final Transcripts. Are these the ones actually attending or got accepted? And out of how many graduating seniors in PISD are these numbers? Thanks.
I am assuming they mean college students are actually attending. I think total graduates in PISD is around 4500. One thing to note, lots of strong PISD students move to TAMS in 11th grade which has exceptional STEM program with great placements.

A natural "type A" personality will thrive in any school. Kids that are smart yet inclined to slack off would get the most out of attending the hyper-competitive schools (HP, Southlake, St. Mark's etc.).

For a white student, diversity probably doesn't matter much one way or the other. You're going to be the majority in high school, college and the workplace. For students of color, it's good to see others like you including teachers. A 25-year old white female teacher is going to respond differently to a group of energetic white kids versus an energetic group of black kids. I know from experience, being sent outside to the hallway for conducting myself in the same manner as my classmates. It's easy to take for granted when you're always the majority but being able to socialize with people like you is important.

Diversity doesn't have a specific income level or racial percentage attached to it. It's learning how to relate to people when you have no obvious commonalities. Something needed in the real world.
