I was hoping for a little more rain, but hopefully we will get some more rain before the night ends.
Just started raining in southwest Richardson.

Why didn't you add one to your current house? Odds are against getting stricken twice?

You might have more than that to worry about tonight if you're around Denton or Farmersville...

Interesting! I am in frisco. Don't you think that installing the lightning rod got it to strike it?

Tonight was our first scary storm like this. We are going to have to come up with an emergency plan! The pup was so scared she ran upstairs under the bed. With sirens going off, I pulled the kids into the 'safe' room. DD was scared and upset the puppy wasn't with us.

Welcome to spring in Texas. What happened today is a bit unusual, but not all that unusual. We are going to get a new roof. And car repairs. And new car windows.

And we had the roof replaced about 6 years ago because of a hail storm.

Lightning strikes that start fires happen, hit a home about a block from us last fall. However, you are more likely to get a surge through the power line.

What city are you in? Denton was pounded. I have to look at my roof in the morning... Hopefully quarter-size hails would not cause anything...

Hope everyone down there is safe. I don't miss severe weather season at all. Severe storms are common in the spring and fall in North Texas. Most of the time they bring a lot of wind and lighting, but occasionally it's large hail and tornadoes.
