Hello Dallas!!!
We are in the process of relocating from Ohio to your beautiful city in October. I know nothing about the area and would like to find out where are some of the best places to live in North Dallas?
We won't be buying another home right away so we're wanting to rent a 3BD/2BA Condo or Townhouse in a gated community. It would be nice to be close to shopping, transportation, etc.. We're looking at $1,200-$1,400 per month.
I hope that some of you wonderful Dallas Texans will be able to provide me with some feedback.

You can check zip code 75248. It is close to Dallas North Tollway, 635, George Bush tollway and 75. Lots of shopping opportunities nearby from grocery to retail. We lived in a townhouse next to Prestonwood Country Club / golf course. It was pretty safe and nice. I can give you more information if you like. It is very close to established, affluent neighborhoods.

Might be a little above your price range but the Estancia Townhomes are pretty nice.
Estancia Townhomes Dallas Apartments - Apartments in Dallas, TX
They're basically at Belt Line and the Dallas North Tollway so you're close to Addison and also close to the Galleria.

I'm disabled so I'm home all day. Therefore, it's important to me to live in a community environment where I can get to know other people. I also need to be close to some type of transportation as well. I current live in a suburb and have enjoyed being outside of the city.

This location is on the north side of LBJ 6-35 and Webb Chapel on the border of Dallas and Farmers Branch. Coppell would be a good option but you are not going to find many townhomes or condos. You will not be right near a DART rail line in Coppell.
