An Oregon man has been charged with abusive sexual contact after he allegedly groped an unaccompanied teen aboard an American Airlines flight.
Chad Cameron Camp, 26, was arrested after the incident on a flight from Dallas to Portland on Wednesday night, according to a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court.
A flight attendant had advised Camp that other seats were available, but he sat in the middle one next to the 13-year-old girl, the complaint said.
Camp allegedly began making small talk with the child in the seat next to him.
He leaned against the teen, nudged her, touched her with his elbow and placed his hands on her knee and upper thigh three times, according to the complaint.
Disgusting. A man from NY got in trouble recently for the same thing. Its scary this happening on a plane, Where changing the seat or getting off and waiting for the next one are usually not an option. I am not a parent but never even knew kids that young could fly alone.
D. Scott, it's called the "Unaccompanied Minor" program. Airlines have it (usually for a fee) & escort the kids to and from flights & during connections and the flight attendants are supposed to keep an eye on them inflight, but as we all know, they can't be watching them all the time.
That half reads like there was some giant misunderstanding.. Until you get to the end and realize that the touching of the knee is only what the FA saw.

Sad that this happened. So sad.
Exactly..I started flying by myself when I was 10 or 11 back in the 1970s and the flight attendants were notified in advance of children flying alone. I don't recall there was a fee then and if there was, it was nominal, but this $150 must have been added recently.
Whenever I flew alone and if there were several unaccompanied kids, we were seated together near the front, boys in one row, girls in the other behind first class and we were given comic books and such to keep us busy. If there were no other kids without adults, I was assigned the aisle seat. I do remember the FA's watching like hawks to make sure I was ok. In fact I was thinking "leave me alone lol" but I know they were doing their jobs and had an extra responsibility.
Even with people now having the ability to record on their phones if there is an incident, I would never let a child fly alone today, speaking for myself only.
I'm just glad that the media reports these things and that most people find it objectionable. When I was in graduate school I had to visit a large museum on the east coast for part of my research, and could only afford to go by Greyhound bus. I had very long hair then, and a drunk man sat next to me and pawed at it until I was practically screaming at him to stop touching me. No one did or said a thing. I finally lurched past him and moved up front near the driver. And that's actually the least disgusting unwanted touching episode in my life.
I don't think a lot of people realized until recently how much of this young women put up with, and I hope it's becoming more obvious that it's simply unacceptable.
Too bad commercial aircraft don't have working airlocks.
