The church even alerted TSA after they hired him and they did nothing. We're paying this guy 75K a year to now molest children at airports. The insanity never stops with this government.

"A disgraced former priest, defrocked from his New Jersey diocese over allegations of molestation in 2002, was three months later given a job as a TSA officer, it has been revealed.
Thomas Harkins was employed in a role where his duties would include doing pat downs on children, according to local news, after the agency failed to do a thorough background check and offered him a position at Philadelphia International Airport."

I'm no fan of the TSA, but innocent until proven guilty comes to mind.

Was he indicted or convicted of anything? That is what a background check would turn up.

Also = TSA officers make 75k? Are you serious?

Well most of these pervert priests walked due to statutes of limitations on the claims so they can't be tried. This one was accused of doing his deed back in 1980 or so. Civil case against him but I doubt he can be tried criminally. So technically he can't be proven guilty in court. He gets to be paid to molest folks now what a country right?

When he got that job he probably thought "there is a God!!!!" and he died and went to heaven.

How was he making $75,000 a year as a TSO???? He must have been putting in alot of overtime.

But background checks don't check for charges, or civil cases. They check for convictions, because you are innocent until proven guilty.

Honestly, the TSA could have faced a lawsuit if they didn't hire the guy, and has it been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he molested children in a court of law by a jury of his peers?

I don't think we need the TSA at all, but this line of attack I don't follow.

Innocent until proven guilty, what a country indeed.

I'm sure you'd be fine with you being denied jobs or rights based on accusations that never saw the face of a judge or a jury of your peers?

He is one of 4,300 priests accused of molestation.

Although never prosecuted, after church-driven civil lawsuits were settled for $195,000, Harkins was barred from presenting himself as a priest.

Take your daughter to his groping station if your so in love with this clown. Honestly you people are insane. You don't be have to be guilty of a crime to be denied a job. They should have never hired him. You keep making excuses for your government. They know right after all. I'm sure the court system has never looked at someone as guilty before. As a matter of fact every prosecutor in the country looks at a person charged in that light. You need to wake up bub.
