I'm certainly hearing and reading many different takes on this story, is there an official version of what happened?

Good lord no!!!! I read and saw pics that made Mike brown to be a member of the blood gang.

The mass media is also to blame for contininuing to stereotype minorities in a bad way. Movies, Tv shows, etc have few minority actors. The majority of the cast as made up by whites and Usually, the minority plays the 'bad guy/girl.' But the biggest instigators of bad stereotype is hip-hop/rap music. Just go watch the music video 'hot n###a' by a Bobby shmurda and then go read the lyrics.

Blame goes like this:
Parents
The social environment
Mass media for portraying negative stereotype
The individual

^ Correct on the weed in system for up to 4-6 weeks.

And there was NOT a toxicology done on Wilson. I just checked the evidence and was upset to see a breathalyzer in evidence labeled as "toxicology report for Daren Wilson."

It's this type of manipulating evidence which makes me question the playing field.

The justice system being broken and this specific incident have nothing to do with each other. Is the justice system broken? I would lean to that its more broken than not broken.

How about this idea as an alternative.

Stop breaking the law, pull up your pants, pull up your sleeves and learn how to work hard to try and get ahead like most of us have to do.

Is life fair? Heck no, but its unfair for all of us. All of us can always point to someone who has it better.

You are blaming all the problems of black poverty on a repressive and gigantic "socialist" government when there are so much evidence that suggest that it is the weak cultural values among the said group that is responsible for the persistent poverty among blacks.
When one poster called for revolution, I said "that's stupid", and tried to draw a comparison to a true revolution -- the revolution students did 25-years ago in half the Europe overthrowing oppressive radical left-wing Socialist regimes and calling for liberty, democracy and Capitalism.

Who says that I am blaming all problems of black poverty on an oppressive and gigantic "socialist" Govt?
If that's what you comprehended from my post, I apologize for the confusion.

However IMO Central Govt's attempts via poverty programs, education funding etc. etc. have in most cases made things worse, turned schools in thug and baby factories etc.

Who's to blame?

Family is the basic cell of life, so yes I first blame the mother and father for raising a criminal. If you're 18, I blame you, and no one else.

I also blame the Central Govt for encouraging bad behavior, weak work ethic, avoiding personal responsibility, making bad financial decisions.

Come to think of it, a powerful Central Govt does oppress people in the name of people. And it brings out the worst in people, like theft, exploitation, dependency, jealousy, hypocrisy, sucking up to others, parasitism, etc. etc.

All it takes to not have a confrontation with the police is to simply act like a decent human being in the event they pull you over. Where people get into trouble is they get all huffy and start getting in the cops face, and that is when it goes downhill.

For example, one night I left my shop, that is in an industrial area, at about 1 am, I was working there late. As I pulled onto the road a Sheriff lit me up and I pulled over. Now, here I am, a white guy, driving a nice car, and I know I haven't done anything wrong, so I stop.

He walked up and asked me for my license, which I had ready, and then he said "What are you doing back in there this late at night?" I simply explained that my shop was back there and I gave him the address. He apologized for stopping me, and I said "No, thank you for keeping an eye on our area, we appreciate it." The next day I called his substation and thanked the watch commander also for patrolling our area.

THAT is the difference between a person who knows the police are simply doing their job and a person who feels "profiled" and who creates problems for themselves by not cooperating. My stop lasted all of 1 minute, and I was on my way home. But if I had been a jerk I bet it wouldn't have gone so well.

Don
There used to be a police officer in Denver, (Buster) scary, if he pulled you over. One night, my son and his buddy were pulled over (this is like ages ago, 70's) and my son's friend was knocked around, simply because he smarted off to Buster. My son's dad was in law enforcement and knew to say, yes sir, alright sir............lessons we learn.

Most police officers are great, they know their job is to protect people; it must be really tough to be in law enforcement.

Wilson, IMHO was way out of line. We sure seem to be a trigger happy nation.

As I've mentioned in other threads on this subject, it is very easy for those of us who sit safely in our comfy little homes to judge what a cop goes through on a daily basis. We hire the police to deal with people that do not think like the majority of us...........and that includes white and black criminals. I think that if any of us were cops for a month we would have a whole different perspective on how nice people are.

It must be even worse when a cop is asked to work in an area that is known to be crime riddled. Every city and town in the country has nice areas and also areas where crime is rampant. My own town has a couple of areas like that, and I would not drive through there at night under any circumstances, but we send our police officers in there to keep the peace.

Think about this...........how would you like a job where you never knew when you left your family that morning if you were going to come back to them alive that night ? That is what our police do every day of their lives. There are people out there who would think nothing of killing a cop and who carry the weapons on them to do it. We send our cops into these war zones and then we hold them to a higher standard than we hold the criminals to.

Also, think about this...........what if every cop in the country suddenly quit his or her job ? Try to imagine that world for a minute. If you think the burning and looting in Fergusen is bad, multiply that times 100,000 and that would be the outcome. Our law enforcement people keep the lid on crime so that 99% of us can go to bed at night and sleep well. But when one of them is put in a position of having to defend himself, or to deal with an out of control criminal, we get all politically correct and say they used "excessive force."

Go out and become a cop for a while and then come back and tell us armchair quarterbacks how things really are.

Don

No other country has Hollywood and no other country has a media like ours. Our media wouldn't be allowed in the UK under law! It is hyped up and bias. Wilson is just a product of a fear driven hyped up media blitz that is going on all the time. Now with smartphones, people can get their fear pill every moment. The real question is, who is behind the fear pill and why? The Brown case is just a byproduct of the past 20 or so years of 24 hours of fear pill taking. You can't blame the result, you need to understand the source.
