About the transportation, when the RNC was in NYC in 2004 they had their own charter buses despite all the cabs and public transit. They should do the same thing in Cleveland.
I know a bit about Cleveland but don't normally think about the place. The one thing that pops into my head when I hear the name Cleveland is, "Cleveland, city of light, city of magic".
If the people act like jerks at the convention the whole Cleveland thing will start all over. That means no protests. For one short period be nice to everyone.
I hope they have transportation to The R&R Hall Of Fame, Art Museum, Casino, etc. If they let them find their own transportation I can see bad things happening. Anything wrong will be magnified by every comedian.
I am sure the jokes will be on at least one late night show as early as tonight.
So what you're saying is that the people in Cleveland aren't nice? I can assure you that's not true. The people in Cleveland are great and are never rude or obnoxious.
I think I flew to Cleveland once or twice for work.
It was so un-memorable that I am honestly not sure; I know I have been in the the airport, but maybe just to change planes?
I used to love the Drew Carey show! I also knew a guy from Parma.
Most people going to the convention aren't going to visit a museum or tour the city. They'll spend a long day at the convention, have a couple of cocktails and rub some elbows, eat dinner, go back to the room to use the laptop for a while then fall asleep. A few people may have a look around the area or visit the casino.
Congratulations to Cleveland, but if you think hosting a RNC is going to have a some huge magical transformation on the city you are sadly mistaken. It will come and go, and Cleveland will still be Cleveland.
If you don't believe me, name the city that held the 2012 RNC? The 2008? The 2004? The 2000?
Never been there. Only know of one person who even lived there and she said she would never move back. But to me, when i hear the name, I just think, poor weather, tons of people in poverty, nothing really for tourist to come see, and historically bad sports teams that should probably be defunct by now because they never win. Especially the Browns.
I'll be honest, it just seems like a depressing city. But I did hear that the overall cost of living is low

Uhhhhh, Knoxville, Tennessee? Nah, that's too obvious....
When I hear Cleveland I think of the Cleveland Clinic. We did visit about 10 years ago and my main impression was what a shame all the historic, ornate mansions on Euclid Ave. were demolished. Case Western Reserve was interesting architecture, and a nearby Botanic Gardens was cool. That's about all I know of Cleveland.
