Well, after a week talking about it, its here. I have to admit this week hasnt been bad so far thanks to some breeze and smoke from the wildfires in Ontario.

But thats about to change...

Be safe. Pinks (100s) will be knocking on door just miles away,

Ah, so that was the reason. Yesterday felt remarkably comfortable!

At least they're only talking about 3 days of major heat!

The news only talked about the winds coming off the ocean cooling it off yesterday. While wildfire smoke can cool things by blocking sunlight, sometimes the fire itself produces a heating effect downwind. In 1881 wildfires in Ontario, Canada combined with a hot airmass and a southeast wind sending the "fire heat" towards the ne US produced one of only two times that temperatures over 100-deg were recorded in most of the Northeast in September (the other time being in 1953).

Was in Newport yesterday and the breeze was amazing there. Kinda weird though, at around 8pm we were having dinner a this restaurant by the docks and an crazy fog rolled in. It was kinda like a movie where you could see the fog roll into town. The local guy next to us said it happens but this was unexpected.

I know exactly what you mean.. I believe thats Advection fog. Which can form any time. Cool moist air from the water moves over the warm hot land.

What I've been noticing thats not norm is the sun... It just cant seem to burn through a certain layer and it ends up looking like the moon because you can litterally stare at it.

Thats not the moon.. We're in July & there should be no reason why it cant burn through that layer....unless.... its volcanic ash.

lol... Back in March or April I said we wouldn't see 90s or get hot until at least mid-late July instead of April like in 2010. .. Was I right or did we hit 90s in June? Short term memory loss. lol

93 degrees. Check out the humidity!! 60 something percent! Dew Point in the 70s. Feeling like above 100 degrees.

I did not think it was too bad out there at lunchtime. Probably because there was a breeze. Jay

Tomorrow will be worse..Saturday the same. Then a break but we should stay upper 80s-low 90s all month. Wind picked up a little making it bareable.. At least the sun is sleeping (no solar flares lately). This is pure heat from the south coming up.

Meterologist said the blacktop reading in PA was 140 degrees and soles were burning up.

NYC streets gotta be flat out disgsusting with those alleys, brick buildings a trillion people around you.

Thank god for trees!! I hope my neighbors a/c blows up or he melts. Took down 7 trees planted 0. Now theres all sun around his property in a semi woodsy neighborhood
