The January 27th storm was a Cat1. As big as it was they gave it a Cat 1 rating. Not sure I agree with that but they have their own criteria for it. Look at those 10-20 inch totals across the state. Impressive.

Sometimes people forget the absolute perfect track for this to happen. Just a 50 mile shift East and we would have seen less than 8 inches all around. A 75 miles shift west and we would have seen rain. Thats amazing to me.

They have the city at 59 F. It will be interesting to see how hot we can get
I think it will depend on how much clouds and rain happen Friday. Since the forecast now says showers, the 59 seems pretty on target. But if it ends up sunny most of the day I could see mid-upper 60s happening!

Sunday, Feb. 16, 1958....Over a foot of snow (13") fell across southwestern Connecticut on this date. Eleven towns faced emergency status after the storm. Snow drifts were as high as 15 feet, and schools and many factories were closed. Take a look at the front page of the Feb. 17, 1958 edition of The Bridgeport Post.

I don't know about upper 60's on Friday in Connecticut ...but I think low 60's have a shot. I was really thinking more the city (NYC) and maybe Newark might hit 65 or so.

Next week is looking more and more like the center of the lows will stay north of the Tri-State area, which will keep us in the warm sector. So I think rain will be on tap at least at some point. This should kill off whats left of the snow cover across the area. Lets hope so

Here is the latest forecast from the National Weather Service at 2:00 PM. Looks like no real big storms for the next 6 days. Mon/Tue will be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s, snow will be a long shot. Even the chance of precip is low. I think most lows will go north of the Tri-State for the rest of winter, so we will warm sector most of the time. Great News!
