What a weekend huh? (little too hot for me but dry at least)

Short & Sweet forecast.

Cold front in NY approaches.
Storms Monday morning could be severe with downpours again lasting on off all day.
Thunderstorms possible tomorrow afternoon
Below normal temps Mon. Tues. Wed. Nighttime 50s likely...Chance of showers each day
Heat returns for next weekend..Dry starting Thursday

I now believe that heat wave was a sign for a pattern change. We could be going to hot temps for July/August. With the NAO continuing to be negative, one must wonder if a Coastal storm will happen.

Watch Debby in Gulf as nobody knows what track shes taking. East, North, West. Already Tropical Storm damage in Florida and Tornados spinning up.

Have you seen the air temps out West the past few days? Ambient air temperatures of near 110F out on the High Plains by the Colorado border. Denver has been over 100F several days in a row with humidity values less than 5%. This is a very serious situation going on there because the heat has started so early and looks to be very persistent. Horrible news for the fire danger threat there because the heat makes things worse across the board. I do agree with you that the East should start seeing temperatures somewhat above normal by next weekend, but I don't see anything too extreme. However, June will continue the string of consecutive months with above average temperatures in NH. (14 in a row).

Default Bridgeport, CT Tornado June 24, 2011

One year anniversary was yesterday of the Tornado that touched down in Bridgeport.

FEMA set the damage tally around $3 million, while Bridgeport calculates it around $5 million, not including up to $17 million for the historic Barnum Museum and its contents

Some videos on it. Bridgeport, CT tornado - YouTube

This was the most memorable video from it.. Its short and gets cut off but you can see the debris and hear the winds from it.

We're getting a lot of rain from the storm so far, and small hail. No real wind. It looks like it's clearing up to the west already. The temp has dropped, it feels much cooler.

It got pitch black in Stamford and its raining pretty good, but most of the thunder and lightning seems to have passed.

Yes, I can see blue sky it's already. It's a fast mover.

Okay, editing to say never mind, it's cloudy again and I hear more thunder to the west again. Looks like it's not done after all.

The storm just finished moving through Hartford, it was over start to finish in about 40 minutes. It was ugly for a little while but at least it was a fast mover.
