Look at BDR. Gotta love the coast. lol

Ironically two hours later the warm front pushed through, winds shifted and BDR jumped to a record 79 almost instantly! Lee Goldberg of channel 7 noted this in amazement on the 11pm news last night. One more degree and it would've tied the all time record for March and been only the 2nd time they had ever (records back to 1948) been 80 in March (the lone time was March 29, 1998). As it was record for the date of 70 set in 1954 was shattered!

The 82 in Central Park was the first 80+ there in March since March 31, 1998! It too broke a daily record (76 set back in 1922.....interesting side note about that day is the low was only 37)

Can you imagine how disgusting it is to live in a place that already sees consistent 80s?

I'll take my sunny warm 60s. Thanks

SER (SouthEastRidge) looking hot

Lets keep that Jet stream suppressed enough but not south of us to give us the cold.

You can't see it in the picture but there is an airmass over Alaska right now that will decend into the Northeast. Get ready for a cold period. Freezes April 2-3, 5-6

Cambium, I am curious what you think about the wind potential Sunday into Monday? Tomorrow afternoon, there looks to be an inversion likely, but what about after that? Mostly thinking about damage and power outage potential...I really am getting the feeling we are going from one wind advisory or warning to another these days.

Rainy Sunday. I see some Thunderstorms over Long Island. Temps generally in the 50s. 40s in Southern New England

There's the cold airmass. Will be in the Northeast tomorrow, quickly in & out.

Then a colder reinforcing shot of cold by end of week

Polar Talk and it's not about bears

Area Forecast
National Weather Service New York NY
733 AM EDT Sun Mar 28 2021

In its wake, drying conditions but unseasonably chilly
conditions for the start of April with a polar shot of cold air advection for
Thu/Fri ushered in on breezy NW flow as low pressure deepens in
eastern Canada. Temps on Thu will may only top out in the 40s for
most areas, and then possibly only upper 30s to lower 40s on Friday
as heart of polar air works down (10-15 degrees below seasonable).

Gradual moderation to seasonable and possibly above seasonable
through the weekend as the closed low slides east and surface high
pressure builds to the south

Squall line? Not quite. No wind, lightning or even heavy rain on the CT shoreline.
