3:15pm temps. More 90s showing up in CT. Wicked out there. Doesn't feel like October is next week

Poor Michigan AGAIN. How many days of 90s is that now? Wow.

U.S and Maria view. Cloudless or Convective clouds under the Ridge in the East. Clouds inside the trough in the West and snowing in the mountains of Colorado.

Cam: not sure if you are seeing the same, but the squirrels are hyperactive this year. Earlier too. Surprising given the warmer weather and abundant sun. Are they trying to tell us that winter is coming with a vegence. I remember a similar dynamic before the 2014/2015 winter. I’d even go so far as saying the amount of acorns on the ground is unprecedented. Curious on your thoughts or do we have to wait for the farmers almanec?

You read my mind. I posted in the CT photo thread this morning. Lol

Acorns are the most I ever saw. Squirrels are very active eating and burying but not in panic mode like Fall 2014. That winter we had record long snow depth and that historic Feb-Mar 2015 cold.

Fall 2015 and Fall 2016 they werent active much.

What I havent seen this year is nest building though.

Saw the same happening here. They were running around like crazy all weekend.

I'm sure the people that went from the Connecticut River Valley to Mystic felt they left a burning oven and entered an air conditioned room. lol

By the way, that 61 in New Hampshire looks so out of place. The irony!!

I made an effort to not be outside today. Lol.

Yeah the 61 is on "the rock" 6200'. They might get their 1st measurable snow this weekend. Bit later than usual actually.
