Hope everyone is okay and that power comes back soon. Those pictures are incredible; looks like more than just rain and strong winds came through there.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a microburst or something along those lines. Though I don't know much about severe wx so take that with many grains of salt.

Wow! We got a total of .10" in 2 dumps.

First had a good amount of thunder but the second, the heavens just opened up and poured for 2 minutes. Waste of a good day otherwise!

Here's what it looked like from my boat at the height of the wind and rain... crappy video taken by a passenger who was half hiding downstairs...

Here's a video where the max winds and rain had passed, but it was still pretty crazy.. 10 mins later it was all good.

The only rain I had was a quick pop up shower in Berlin (Kensington section) between 11:20 and noon. Nothing too big but heavy enough to open the umbrella for. Then a few drops came down by McDonald's on New Britain Road a couple of hours later. Sun was out nicely overhead and to the west after 4:30. Walked east down South Street New Britain then Kelsey Street and Pane Road Newington to the Berlin Turnpike. Sunny the whole time. Just darker to the east and that's it.

Sometimes a tripped tranformer within the line will give power back to a whole area while others still out due to down lines.

A friend of mine had pea-sized hail in West Redding.

If I was alone I would have chosen to go drop the anchor right off of the Coast Guard station near Sound Sailing school... behind the wall, but had passengers who were insisting we go in.
