2. Why a pattern can be a wet one for us

Front is stalled over our area and the flow is creating on off showers and downpours for days. So expect more of the same tomorrow

The frontal boundary will remain nearly stationary somewhere
south of the area, through Central New Jersey and south of Long
Island. The flow will remain nearly parallel to the frontal
boundary and additional shortwaves will move through the flow.
There remains uncertainty as to where the frontal boundary will
be and where the energy will flow with the NAM mainly to the
south, and the GFS and ECMWF farther to the north. So, did a
best estimate of timing and areal coverage for Monday into
Monday night,
Looks like NAM model was wrong. It's further north. That means the showers are too

June 17, 2019

Front sagging across PA, Southern NY, CT, RI, and MA.

North of it sunny, dry, 70s.
South of it Sunny Humid, 80s/90s.
Under it, Cloudy, scattered showers & Humid, 70s

DONT YOU DARE MOVE FURTHER NORTH. STAY RIGHT THERE!

Large batch of rain heading towards us.

Front still hanging over us means warm nights and mornings. In the Mid 60s out there

Finally. A Radar that is large, clear, and has a GIF you can save and share.

Loop is for past 45 minutes and each frame is 5 minutes apart.

Almost an inch of rain today. Almost 3 inches for the month.

Embedded downpours.
Stalled Front
Temps in the 60s in June
3 hours of sun in 3 days
No complaints

That radar loop is so much easier to read, thanks for sharing. Now if only it could make it be sunny and low 70s for more continuous days...

Some warmer temps ahead? Looks like starting Sunday we should see some mid 80's.
Also, it looks like another perfect weekend coming up as well.

Hottest Temp for Bridgeport, CT is 84° this June so far. Still 12 days to go but the Hottest temp in June is trending down since 1990s.

Wanna see NYC?

Here is Bridgeport's forecast. The 84° would be the 5th coldest max temp if that's it.

Only 3 hours of sun here since Saturday the 15th. Not complaining now like I said but nobody wants to listen until NOAA, NASA, or the media has a headline on it. Solar Minimum is now taking effect and allowing more clouds to be around.

Not just CT, Michigan as well, people are getting depressed....

Did you know there are only a select few spots that keeps track of sunshine? Sucks huh? Maybe we'll never see the headlines after all.

I been keeping track since April 1st. I did it last Spring too because I noticed it was cloudier than usual. While I don't have enough data at my location I can say, there's been a lack of sun for sure.

Will people start moving out of CT because it's so gloomy? At least there hasn't been heat! Last summer only 1-2 heat waves for us too.

One of the reports I heard on climate change for Mass ( which should apply to most of CT) is that spring and fall weather will get longer, summers and winter will be shorter but warmer then normal and we get a lot more rain. Which seems like we are going to have weather closer to the PNW.
