Did you know there are only a select few spots that keeps track of sunshine? Sucks huh? Maybe we'll never see the headlines after all.

I been keeping track since April 1st. I did it last Spring too because I noticed it was cloudier than usual. While I don't have enough data at my location I can say, there's been a lack of sun for sure.

Will people start moving out of CT because it's so gloomy? At least there hasn't been heat! Last summer only 1-2 heat waves for us too.
Agree with the lack of heat this summer, but disagree about last summer which had some prolonged stretches of heat. Maybe not the technical definition of heat waves (3+ days > 90 F) but we had 90s in May, and 90s in September!

My Acurite Atlas weather station has a light sensor. I can see lux intensity, uv index, and hours of sunlight every day.

Here is the last 24 hours of light intensity. Yesterday was extremely low.

0 sun today again with afternoon temps in the 60s for some of us near the coasts. BDL almost near 80F.

80s in Montreal and South NJ. 54° on Mt Washington.

Still humid with these clouds but no problem. Dews in the 60s. Is this the same front that was hovering over us 3 days ago? Gees

Yup, but May is Spring and September is fall for me. I was talking about Summer itself. The 90s were pretty scattered. Only 1 heatwave at BDR. 3 for BDL including a long one early July.

That is cool!! Make sure you double back and check the data so you can save for many years to come and then compare.

Loop last 4hrs.. Funny how last month I would use "Misery" but now I am using "Awesome". I am getting headaches though. And my plants are itching for sun. This is crazy.

A little technical.. Always remember the "Top Down" approach. The Upper levels control what weather pattern happens at the surface.

Well I am grateful that the front is stalled over the area because with a flow like this we could of easily been super hot and humid!

Upper Level heights showing the flow is from the SW. Thanks to the clouds our nights have been very warm but the daytime coolish with temps in a tight range between 60-75.

You wont get cold or dry weather with a flow like this. I miss the Upper Lows but that's on the other side this morning.

Moisture always follows the flow at this level as well. So if you want a coastal storm you need vertical upper level pattern at the coast. This is not one.

The differences on the 6/17 reporting cycle were very localized as well.

2.68" so far this month IMBY. I see some areas in Fairfield County are closing in on 4". Don't seem to recall any major thunderstorms this month, just heavy rain showers.

Vermont seems to be getting slammed today. Flooding concerns up there?
