Wow, it looks like it is deliberately dipping south to avoid us.

I assume there's a blocking high over us, hence why we're not getting this storm?

Atlantic City has more snow than NYC after Mid November and will have more than NYC for entire season after this.

Yup. Strong Cold Canadian High too far south. (Needs to be in Quebec, not over us) but again, weather events are a 100 piece puzzle. Climate is 1000 piece. More to it than just 1 thing. Just the way the Jet stream is positioned too.

Trying to update this thread when I have time if anyone is interested.

1 week ago I asked the question because I knew it was either or.

Apparently we got the former. Not "super" cold but is below normal. Last 2 days with a 12° low at BDL. Yesterdays max was only 27. Normal is mid 30s

Forecast next 7 days.

Latest Euro has 1.16" of precip that would be all snow for 3 days next Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. 12"+

At least we'll finally get 5 days of no precip!! Been since September!

Yes, we're almost halfway through meteorological winter. But maybe there's some interesting stuff ahead yet per NWS BOX:

Looks like an active winter pattern starting next week. Some of the 384 hour model runs are nuts with snowfall totals.

Im actually down in DC for a wedding. Looking like a good storm down here. Cant wait!
