You really enjoyed the summer? I live for summer and love the heat, but this summer was just too much with all the rain and humidity. My deck furniture grew moss and I used the AC in my car nearly every day. I hate air conditioning!

Spring and summer are the only things I enjoy in CT and I've felt really shortchanged the last few years!

Are you good at predictions? That would be so much better than 2' of snow that doesn't melt till April. I just can't handle another cold long winter!

We went south for a couple of days in July and it was cooler and less humid than here. One more bad winter is likely to put me over the edge and push me out before I am ready. I need a couple of mild ones to lessen the pain.

The 3 interesting things to talk about next 7 days...

1. Warm & Humid

Dews will be in the mid 60s tomorrow, wed, Thursday with temps in the 70s during the day and even some 80s on Wednesday.

2. Rain & Wind.

Michael after making landfall over Florida will exit the Mid Atlantic. That means rain & gusty winds on Thursday and Thursday night. Should clear for Friday.

3. Chilly & Heat Needed Inside.

Next weekend first time we'll need heat during the day.

The temp map below is per GFS6z for 8pm next Sunday. Already in the 50s by 8pm. Monday and Tuesday even chillier!

I'll have to clean the wood stove this week sometime.

So it looks like I may have to stake down or remove some decorations before Thursday. We have our Halloween party Saturday so I'm glad it is coming sooner and will clear out by then.

What are the predictions for wind/rain accumulations?

Will depend on track. GFS stays off shore enough that the bulk of the precip (2"+) stays off shore so only has 1-2" for us.. Canadian model says the track is West more so the total rain over us would be 2-4". I have to assume I'll be getting 2"+ again. lol

As far as wind.. I'm not expecting anything over 50mph but good point on decorations. Just pin them down good and you'll be fine.

Flashback to October 18, 2015. This was the afternoon radar. Many of us had our first frost, freeze, and snowflakes on this day. Bridgeport, CT & Long Island officially reported a trace of snow.

I had snowflakes falling with the surface at 44°, Temps aloft (at 5000') was in the teens! (-8C). Temps were in the 30s by evening

Spoiler

It’s been kind of moist I agree. Winter I predict a lot of rain and some sleet, not so much of snow. But slippery conditions, wet nor’easters.

Its kinda typical for mid-end of october to get us in the Fall mood. Its when we get reminded how cold and snowy CT can get. That first "brrrr" moment of Fall and we get into winter mode cleaning up outside.

I have to agree. I've had my AC on twice this month, simply to dry out the house!
