So NWS can keep a rainfall total map up for 1/4"-1" of liquid but ..............

God forbid they put up a snowfall total forecast 3 days away. Damn that's so annoying! Just put 6-8" on the map and adjust downward. Gees!

Here's what's really weird (and that map still shows 0). The forecasts go out to Thursday now on the NWS site. I clicked on Bridgeport and it says "little or no snow accumulation". So did Danbury. I clicked on NYC and it says "3 to 5 inches possible". Same for White Plains. Did they update NY and not CT?

Hartford forecast (different NWS office) says 90% chance of snow but doesn't mention amounts.

By the way, that Euro map you posted looks just like the snowstorm of March 31-April 1, 1997 when NYC got a dusting, 6+" from central Westchester into most of CT, and 2 feet in the Boston area!

Looks like some intense storms came through and spawned off some Tornados in the area.
Ah, you are a little off.....during the hot summer of 1988 is the first time I really heard climate change in the news, with James Hansen of NASA in the news about it all the time. But lots of examples of Northeast tornadoes well into the past, I agree with you that I haven't seen anything that suggests we have them more now, or even in 1988 vs. the past.

Ahh, you're right. Damn. It was after the climate started changing. .

And did we have a Record year for least amount of Tornadoes recently? and its been low for couple yrs now? All part of the planets cyclical process. Tornado stats

LOL. Nice, sounds like a plan! You know.. I miss starting snowstorm threads in this CT forum. Feels like its been a while! I only do it for widespread 8"+ though. I like it because more people post and feels like we're one big cozy family when it happens.

Do I want to make that 30+ mile drive? Teleworking seems like a great idea for Wednesday!
