November 3, 2018: Took a ride to Avon, CT. Merritt to Exit 52 Route 8 to Exit 31 I-84 to Exit 39 to RT 10. Awesome Ride with foliage colors!

Started off Cloudy with the front almost done passing through... 60°. Wish had regular camera!

In Avon. Burning Bushes seemed past their peak too. Area was more ahead than Southern Fairfield County of course.

Carpet of Leaves

Cool spot. Creek and a lonely stack of firewood. Had rained earlier this morning.

Edge of front passing.. Blue skies and wind approaching.

November 15, 2018 Snowstorm Pics. I missed the entire event. Well, was on road in traffic for it.

6 inches of snow came down within 4 hours!

State and City DOTs were still picking up leaves. They didn't have plows on so they weren't ready! Plus It's November and forecasted for only 1-3". People didn't believe it would be bad.. Congestion was a nightmare.

Merritt hills seem much taller during snowstorms! Some people were sliding and getting stuck.
Visibility was down under 1/4 mile!

Greenwich Avenue.

Post Road.

Was like a Blizzard with the winds. Intense snow rates.

Snow just kept piling up as we sat there. DOT closed the Merritt so they can plow one section and help folks up hills.

Got home and started shoveling 6" of snow while it was freezing raining.

Landscapers and outdoor projects have been challenging this year! From the late Spring Cold and Snow to the Summer & Fall Rains, now early snow and cold. It's been tough timing everything!

Cool drop in Norwalk. Neat little Valley down there. I should check this area out when there's snow on the hill

Greenwich, February 5, 2019.

How far does it drop? Many people don't think of hills and little valleys like this close to the coast.

Comparison. October 1, 2018 vs February 5, 2019.

Beacon Falls, CT

February 9, 2019

Very cool area. Had the rural feel getting here but with a suburban twist. Lots of hills around.

Nice day! Blue sky and with strong wind gusts. Temps in the 20s, felt like teens..

Gravel "private" road

Saw a few abandoned/old homes.

Amish in Beacon Falls or is that a sled? And how horrible is this Zoysia?

The coolest thing I noticed was .... Then Micro Climate of CT!

It was pretty crazy how it was 28° where I was (red box) at about 500' elevation and then on Route 8 it was 36° there. Crazy! The Oxford/Waterbury station was also 28° at the time and my car thermometer as well. Then was 36° just a short distance away.

Being in the woods is a whole different ballgame for temps. This is why we cannot keep cutting trees down! All thee developed areas are making an area warmer than areas with trees! Black pavement alone is killing it.

Small Snow-Sleet-Rain Storm.

Next Day.. February 13, 2019. Beautiful Sunny morning with temps in the Upper 30s.

Love this spot in Stamford.

Even just a 2 inch storm creates a pile this big. lol

Shovel before the changeover or shovel after the rain?

I had shoveled the snow and 1/2" of sleet but left the other 1/2" of sleet alone then it rained and didn't melt it and today it stuck to the walkway more.

If I had left all the snow and let it sleet and rain on top, then it would be super heavy now and the bottom layer would of froze into a thin layer of ice anyway.

Lose Lose either way.

Sleet Pile with some salt and top soil mixed in. lol
