Stamford, CT. Lots of Yellows. Oaks are changing now so should be more colors happening soon

In many areas the oaks and beeches are the only green left - and even their green is a sad "September green"

Given that many of the prettier trees are already turning I'd say we're at relatively peak color - which makes sense, since this is around the average date of the first frost.

November 2, 2019. Another Beautiful Saturday! Started off at 32° but warmed to Low 50s. Sunny skies but not as lot of wind.

Took another ride on RT107 but took RT53 this time instead of 58.

Nicely Paved road

I know I'm in an area I like when I see old barns

Or Lakes (Ponds) in a backyard

Or a driveway that looks like this.

Or even this.

Or when trees are used for a curb

Or when there are preserves around

Or when there is a big apple on a truck

Or pumpkin patches around

Only thing I didn't capture was a river or firewood.

That's all.

When you guys have a chance, try to take some time away from the hectic lives we have to go appreciate what the State of CT has and more so nature. Sometimes you need a breather in life and all it takes is a nice ride through some rural areas.

Couldn't agree more. So many times I hear people groan about how "the state is just suburbia" or "all of the beauty is in other states."

Usually out of staters who think they've ventured deep into the state by stopping at a rest stop, or very new/ inexperienced residents.

Another pet peeve of mine is "the Long Island Sound is dirty." No, it isn't, and it's you not understanding that the green/brown tint to the water is all of the algae*. It supplies the food chain to make for some of the best shore fishing!

*Pro tip: go walk along the beach from now till March and the water will look much clearer due to the lack of algae!
