Stamford schools have just announced a half day for tomorrow due to heat. I bet Bridgeport will follow.... (Norwalk already has a half day tomorrow because the school year ends there this week.....I don't know if today's half day there was heat related though).

WOW! That's crazy and that's all I'm going to say.

86 in the house, 96 outside.

Only 36% humidity though. I can't believe I have my hair down and it's tolerable.

Just bought a few shades to replace and perhaps I'll put the downstairs AC in, now that I have the optimal window all cleaned out.

Way back when I was in Elementary school during hot days I was suffering and couldn't focus. I almost collapsed a few times. So good for them.

1pmEST.

86.5° right now. Should go past 90..maybe. Dewpoints in the 60s out there

A Summery Red look. 80s everywhere. Nasty storms in Southern MN. Barely any clouds over us!

I think the reason it is more common now is fear of lawsuits when kids collapse so I agree with you. I have noticed that Fairfield County is a lot quicker to do this sort of thing than adjacent Westchester County, NY. I think part of that may be this is the time of year that NY does the Regents exams which are hard to reschedule, but I noticed a similar pattern during very warm Septembers.

How does ANYONE enjoy this? I accept it as its summer but how do the people in the south put up with this day after day , week after week and actually have the nerve to say they have better weather?

I have never been able to and will never be able to fatham how they do it down south. Sick of the "just go in pool" comments too. Its inhumane to deal with this.

Anyway.. after tomorrow no more 90s till July? Doubt it. Just throwing a comment without any support. You never know
