I will agree that it seems like the seasons are a bit pushed back or out of whack? While I remember some awesome Fall like Septembers in recent memory(2009, 2013) I agree that it felt like we had more in the 80s or 90s..

Kinda the same with December. Seems like Decembers aren't winter like anymore. But then March is more winterlike than Spring like lately. Seems like the seasons are ending 1 month later. I been saying this to myself in recent years.

So maybe we need to change Meteo seasons? lol.
Fall = Oct-Nov-Dec.
Winter = Jan-Feb-Mar

Check this out. Confirmed.

September Average temp since 1948..

Normal is 66.2° for BDR. (normal = 1981-2010 period)

Check out 1980s and even into the 90s. Our thoughts are right. Was below normal and more fall like then.

Last year was record warm.

We only had 5 below normal Septembers since 1990s?

Going further... does this surprise you?? Atlantic Ocean temps.... There's part of your reason. The phase of the Atlantic has been warmer. Need it to cool off and usually happens every 2-3 decades or so.

Notice on Bridgeports graph, 1950s had some warm Septembers.

Winter January and February felt like last year. Can deal with 2 months of winter as the new norm.

While this has nothing to do with a phase change, maybe this will temporarily cool us off, I didn't think about this and found it interesting.

You know, when I saw this video I made the comment about "mixing" cold water up to surface on the accu forums but didn't here. Whoops. Sorry. So you beat me to it. Yes...

This video will show how all the cool water from below mixed up to the surface and shows with the map now. Pretty cool huh? Now we wait and see if it stay cool in those areas. (heat rises)

They need 4 more days this yr with a max temp of 81° or warmer to break the annual record of most days 81+
