For a similar small local chain, I prefer Prime 16.
I have yet to try Prime 16, but plan b I consider just ok.

Plan B can be okay I guess. Personally I rather just have five guys. I get to see them cooking the food and it's not trying to be anything else. Chain restaurants might be okay for a theme but if I'm looking for something decent I don't have to go to them.

If you want something higher end try Capital Grille

Plan B is good, but IMO it used to be a lot better when it was newer and had fewer locations. The novelty of it has definitely worn off. I've noticed that their portion sizes have shrunk and their prices have spiked. I get it, inflation, and this is happening elsewhere, but still, that doesn't entice me to go back repeatedly.

Prime 16 is great. I've only been once, but it was great.

Personally, I miss Catsup & Mustard in Manchester. It was right on Main Street, and it was an awesome place. Service was a bit spotty and it annoyed me that everything was a la carte, but everything there was delicious.

I forgot about Catsup and Mustard! I really enjoyed that place. I believe Corey Wry who owned C&M as well as a couple other places in Manchester completely got out of the restaurant ownership business and sold everything off.

Sometimes gimmicks/novelties wear off. Thai Ice cream seemed cool the first time I bought it but it turns out it is very easy to make. I also know how to sous vide. I think that with the right equipment you can make restaurant quality at home, it's really more about the time.

He did. Not to get off-topic, but yeah, Corey sold all of his restaurants and from what I understand, he isn't in the industry anymore. Which is a shame, because he really had a good thing going. Had he stayed in business, he probably could have opened a restaurant in downtown Hartford and done well with it.

Three sites have been identified by US General Services Administration for Hartford’s new $335 million federal courthouse. The three sites are:

- A parking lot on Allyn Street, just west of the XL Center. The parking lot is bounded by High Street on the west, on the north by Church Street and on the east by various buildings along Ann Uccello Street.

- The parking lot at 10 Ford St., the site of the former Hilton Hotel, demolished in the 1990s. The parking lot is directly across from Bushnell Park.

- A parking lot in the area known as “Bushnell South,” bounded on the south by Buckingham Street, on the west by West Street, on the north by Capitol Avenue and on the east by Hudson Street.

The Allyn Street site, which just west of the XL Center, was once proposed as a site for a major office tower. The area around it was once considered the city’s entertainment district.

The Ford Street site overlooks Bushnell Park and has been planned for residential development.

The Bushnell South site is the large surface parking lot on Capitol Avenue across the street from The Bushnell and next to the State Office Building. It has been the site of a planned redevelopment to build a massive new neighborhood.

One thing is clear, no matter where this courthouse is built, it will have a big impact on changing the area surrounding it. I’m not sure which site is best. What do you think? Jay

I can't read it. Why do they need a new one? What's wrong with the old one?

The one thing I have always loved about courthouses is how old and impressive they are. Gold accents, marble... 15 different kinds in Hartford's!

Sorry about that. The Abraham A. Ribicoff Federal Building and Courthouse is 60 years old. It is small and inadequate by todays standards with just 8 courtrooms and 11 chambers. The new courthouse will have 11 courtrooms and 18 chambers (for 18 judges). The existing courthouse layout does not allow for separate movement of the prisoners, the public and judges/staff and is not up to today’s security standards. Plus federal offices in the building are cramp. The plan calls for the existing building to be used for other federal offices. Jay

I think any of those sites would be fine. They have all been parking lots for decades. The mayor's complaining about the possibility of a tax-exempt building taking up a site is ridiculous. If anyone wanted to build on those sites they would've. There are tons of empty lots in Hartford. Anything that puts a building on one is good news.
