Malls need to reinvent themselves beyond retail everywhere.
GGP almost went under about 10 yrs ago. The sons who took over gambled big on some properties in Vegas and had a big cash flow issue. Fitting town for that.
malls needs to reinvent themselves big time.

The skeleton of the new mall is clearly visible from I-95. Yesterday I had a good look as I was stuck in that parking lot, I mean interstate. I can only imagine what I-95 will be like once the mall is fully open, especially during its initial days when everyone and their mother will be heading there just to see the place.

Not really, SONO is it's own thing. Not like Stamford at all.

100% agree.

Super looking forward to this being open when/if we move back! It won't be to Norwalk (have to live in a higher or equivalent COL area to maintain my salary!) but this will definitely be my go to shopping spot. Is it still slated for next year?

People will be able to get in and out of the mall without ever entering Norwalk proper or Sono, since it's right off of I95, so I'm not sure how dramatic of an effect it will have on Norwalk. Especially if there are a good number of restaurants within the mall, it will give people less reason to go into Norwalk itself or Sono.
