If the Coldest Pool of air in the entire Northern Hemisphere is over Quebec & New England, guess what that means for Maine..

NWS Gray Maine mentions how impressive it is.
The anomaly of the air aloft is a once in a decade thing for this time of year. Not only records at the surface for them but a record for the airmass for March.

Left for the weekend on Friday afternoon and came back yesterday. I couldn't tell that it snowed, let alone 6 plus inches. If I look hard enough I can see some of the brown piles sprinkled with white. But that's it. Pretty amazing.

Haven't checked but all I know is I'm still Burning firewood like its mid winter

Feels like single digits outside this morning. Feels like sub zero in Vermont, NH, & Maine

Wind Chills

Current temps are where the normal lows for January are. At least for here.

Temp departures. Northeast wants to be the Cold spotlight again. And Ohio Valley.

HOURLY DEPARTURE FROM 1981-2010 AVG

After the rain and Spring temps on Thursday another arctic front moves in. The air will be fresh, will be cold enough. Just a matter of getting moisture or a storm to move in.

Right now just scattered non eventful stuff. That Canadian was off its rockers that run and hasn't showed a snowstorm since.

Check out the latest.... This animation is for Sunday afternoon. Take note of the storm around the Great Lakes/Southern Canada.

The latest GFS and the EURO are north more than the EURO Ensembles. The ensembles are usually more accurate since there are multiple runs to make a mean. Check out the difference in the storm position around the great lakes.

THAT SMALL DIFFERENCE means a HUGE difference in who gets what Sunday AND even Monday in New England.

The further south it is, the more chances we get snow but FOR MONDAY. This weekend looks fine

No end in sight for below normal temps. As I said, I'm actually getting tired of looking for the warm trend since all I always see are cold temps being shown..

Won't be as harsh as January obviously but for March-April it will be just cold. Enjoy the pops, enjoy the 40s as much as you can
