Yeah, the models lost the January 3rd storm. I think its because they are seeing a stronger bleed down of the arctic. So I'm seeing more confidence that its going to be frigid rather than a big snowstorm.

So the coastal rainstorm Sunday and the cold air coming is what's being focused on now. No blizzards yet.

But clippers can bring us some good snows too.

EURO says Monday will be the last time to see any 30s until next Saturday.

Wow, it shows under 20 for a high even in NYC! I wonder when that last happened (back before 1990, when they'd get a subzero low every few years, you'd get a high like that then, I'm guessing it's the January day in 2004 when CPK went down to 1 degree, the last time any daily record low was tied or set there and I believe the only time since 1994 (the last subzero in the Park) that it's even been below 5 there for a low).

Sunny cold ...very cold.

Camb looks like your prediction of dry , cold is starting out right. Storm suppression too much arctic air.

LOL!!! Meant to put that in the weather forum. Sorry! Guess I uploaded the wrong file. Maybe Jay or Stylo can delete it if they want.

Yup, plus no real blocking to get those storms to spin up and bomb out near us. Clippers are doing well dropping 1-3" this year. Something tells me maybe Feb/March we might see a blizzard or big snowstorm.

So latest GFS12z shows a clipper that transfers to a coastal storm on the 3rd and then shows a clipper with snow on the 5th.

EURO00z shows a clipper on the 1st with snow and a clipper and a coastal on the 4th and 5th.

That's why I'm not bothering mentioning anything yet. Just too much differences I don't trust it yet

Danbury Data from the Euro. This is not in Celsius!! Kiss those 30s on Monday.

You see the Friday 00z(GMT). That's Thursday 7pm. Euro saying it will be 7 degrees by 7pm. Sick.

Ok so.... Which would you rather have??
  1. Temps 0-25° for many days with no precip
OR

2. Temps in 20s and snowstorm

Apparently #1 is Euro, #2 is GFS right now. Can't wait to see who gives in.

Latest GFS18z transfers the clipper off NJ coast to the coastal Jan3rd. So the Last 4 runs has the coastal while Euro does not..
