Quick thing regarding the plants, I got tomatoes & bell peppers still going here. LOL But light frost or even a freeze doesn't necessarily mean blooms wont happen. Especially this month being pretty normal. A hard freeze will kill (20s)

Typically under freezing you would get a frost but like W2P said, you can get a frost in mid-upper 30s if conditions are right too like I did. Air temp can be 35° but on the ground it can be 32° so any moisture on grass blades/car/roof, ect will freeze hence the frost.

On the other hand even mid 30s doesn't mean you get one, ground didn't get to 32 or wasn't moist enough.

Put a thermometer on the grass and see how different it is from the air tomorrow morning or Friday better yet. I'd love to hear back. I always find it fascinating.

Totally agree. Also, No way meriden at has had frosts and not bdl. You can see bdl is colder during the winter. It's obvious! It's the equipment/location of equipment at bdl.

I still am in shock that not only a week after a hurricane hits we got snow but exactly 1 year before Sandy hit we had this. CT was in the line of fire.

Felt like we had storm threads every month for a couple yrs. Gees.

For someone who supposedly lives in Rochester, you very rarely post in their forum.

No one never posts on the Rochester Forum...

There was a post today, then none until 10/24

I do post in the Syracuse and general NY forum, though.

Quiet me = no snow threat. lol

It's one of those "so close" storms. Ashame when cold air is around and timing of it is prime. Storm will be few hundred miles off shore so too far for us. On the other hand I have trees with leaves and 1 tree all green still so maybe it's best we just see flakes at best and not accumulating.

NWS Boston not giving up though but acknowledges consensus says no accumulating snows but does say there's still time to change as the energy is still way up near the Arctic!

Watch those winds Saturday/night. It's going to feel crazy for this time of year. Low 20s?
